The pond is completely covered in a very fine layer of pollen. At this time of the day when the sun is not quite so intense it takes on a silvery mercurial glow. Love the contrast it creates with the deep shadows in the irises and water dwelling plants around the edge. Might have to get my paints out soon to see if I can capture at least the essence of the scene.
